Mr. Kurt Anderson
c/o Social Demokraten
Stockholm, Sweden
My dear Kurt:
I am sending you a memorandum and some newspaper clippings. The memorandum shows all the support I received in Europe, the clippings will give you some idea of the support received in the United States. I have been in Washington for the past week interviewing officials of the State Department.
How are you? I saw from a clipping that Allehanda has again published some attacks. It seems that Mr. Goebbels has delivered to them some documents from 1919. The paper must have been published on November 8th or 9th. Would you be kind enough to send me five copies of this issue? I also would be very grateful to you if you would ask your bloody financial manager to send me the fee for the articles which I was promised by our friend Höglund. I enclose a letter. Please read it and do me the favor of speaking to the Tidens Förlag. I really think it is a shame that the book is not published. All this petty slander could be destroyed through the publishing of the book and on the other hand it is a good book. You know it and (without false modesty) I know it too. How is Mrs. Anderson? How is the schnapps and smorgas? I saw Lise Lindbæk in Paris and we had the most exciting and amusing discussions about which I am waiting to tell you all the details. Your hair will stand on end.
All good wishes,
Yours ever,
Ernst Toller
