Dear Sr. Azcárate –
after a stormy morning the sea is rather quiet now. Your differentiation between the politician and the author reminds me of a story which I have been reading some years ago. It is the story of a German who attended the Congress of Vienna in an official function and who was at the same time poet and politician. (I believe it was Gentz.) The story runs as follows:
The politicians called him an excellent poet but a bad politician. The poets called him an excellent politician but a bad poet. –
I have learned a lot in the last days from the events “behind the scene” and I shall behave in future like a perfect diplomat.
