9 East, 38th Street

New York City

Dear Barret,

as always the last days before my departure were spent in such a rush, that I could not find the time to call on you. Please forgive me.

The literal translation of my play that Isabel Colbron has done, seems to be rather good. At the moment Thornton Wilder has the manuscript.

I promised to send you the clippings of “No More Peace”. The two which I am enclosing are the only ones I can find among my papers.

I shall stay in London only for a few days and then go on to Barcelona.

Life in London is rather countrified. The theatre is dull, and in spite of the fact that we have no fog at the moment, the Continent seems to be very far away from this green and pleasant island.

Kindest regards

Yours ever

Ernst.
