August 3, 1937.

Dear Ben Irwin: –

Thank you so much for your letter of July 26th. I regret that we have not kept in contact for several months but I hope that will change as soon as I am back in New York. I am glad to consent to the publication of the Requiem (under the title Worldly Requiem) in the November issue of the One Act Play Magazine. For this purpose I am sending you enclosed a slightly revised copy (the corrections are those of style only).

Concerning the performance rights I should like very much that you handle them but as the Dramatists Play Service (Barrett Clark) represents all my other work as far as amateur performances are concerned, I suggest that the contract be signed by Barrett Clark. I have sent him a copy of this letter. Be so kind and get in touch with him regarding the signing of the contract. I also propose that you send all eventual royalties to the Dramatists Play Service. I hope this meets with your approval.

With kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,
