July 29, 1937.

My dear Dudley Nichols: –

It was so kind of you to send me a telegram inviting me to attend the meeting of the Screen Writers Guild last evening. Unfortunately I had guests and it was impossible for me to come to the meeting.

I hope that we will see each other soon. As I know that you are very busy I do not dare to suggest a definite date, but if you are free please give me a ring (Santa Monica 29921).

With kindest regards, also to Mrs. Nichols,

Yours ever,

Ernst Toller.
