I can hardly tell you how much I was pleased on receiving your letter. I had feared already that you were annoyed by my refusal in the last year. In that time I was ill during several months.
Thank you very much for your kind invitation, for December 15th or 27th. I am afraid that I must refuse again because I am to depart next week for Gloucestershire to stay there one month; afterwards I have to go to Manchester in order to put my play “Draw the fires” on the stage of Repertory-Theatre.
