Dear Mr. Bradley,
I am more than sorry to say that your letter of the 27th March only reached me to-day. I have been out of England for quite a time, on account of my health, and through a misunderstanding my letters were not sent on to me until just now. I regret this the more, as a similar thing happened some time ago. –
What have you and Miss Gould thought of me, when no answer came to your kind invitation. However, I shall be back in England presently, and will call on you soon after my return, to explain in person. –
