Cecil M. Abbott, Esq.

4, St. Laurence Road

Northfield

Birmingham

Dear Mr. Abbott,

I am sorry that I could not before thank you for your kind hospitality and all the troubles with which you cared both for my play and myself. I shall forward to you some cuttings of an Edinburgh paper from which you will see in an interview how much I do appreciate the Birmingham production. How often did you produce the play? Considering the big success I hoped you would repeat the production some more times.

Please, tell to the producer of Sonja my kindest regards and that I drew the attention of a London stage-manager upon her.

Thank you for the press-cuttings and that you are prepared to forward the pair of pyjamas I left behind me to me.

My kindest regards and best wishes to all friends, to your wife and to yourself and to your boy.

Sincerely

Yours,

Ernst Toller.
