Dear Ivor,
returning from a lecture journey on the burned literature in Germany in the evening of June 29th, I got the invitation to speak at the meeting of the London assistance committee on June 30th, so it was technically impossible for me to reach London in time, and I apologized by wire in Paris, from where I received the message.
I just expect a message, if I shall travel to Shanghai on July 12th together with Lord Marley. (It has arrived, but, I’m sorry, it’s nothing.)
Anyhow this autumn I shall visit London. You will get a word in time, then I’ll make good for the omission.
